Rittenhouse Psychiatric Associates was founded in 2012, by Chris Pagnani, MD -an Instructor at Johns Hopkins Hospital for the Department of Psychiatry. Our providers trained at Johns Hopkins, The University of Pennsylvania, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and similar institutions. Most of our psychiatrists teach, or have taught, in academic settings. Rittenhouse is a founder-owned practice with no ties to private equity or large corporations. Our private psychiatrists, nurse practitioners & therapists are dedicated to delivering thoughtful, high-quality care tailored to each patient.

Do you accept insurance?
Rittenhouse Psychiatric Associates is an out-of-network private practice and does not participate directly with insurance plans. We do provide superbills to patients, so that if you have out-of-network behavioral health benefits you can submit for reimbursement from your insurance directly, but payment is due at the time of the visit in full.
How quickly can I get an appointment?
New patient appointments are typically available within 1-2 weeks. Availability may vary by provider and specialty.
Do I need a referral?
No referral is required. You can schedule an appointment directly with our team.
Do you offer telehealth visits?
Yes. We offer secure telehealth appointments for many services, allowing you to meet with your provider from the comfort of home when clinically appropriate, and when state and federal rules allow.
Do you offer in-office visits?
Yes! We have in-office locations in Philadelphia & on the Main Line of Philadelphia, in addition to in-office care in Pittsburgh, Collingswood, NJ, Wilmington, DE, Manhattan, NY and others.
Do you prescribe medication?
Yes. Our psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners provide medication evaluations and on-going medication management as part of a comprehensive psychiatric treatment plan, when clinically appropriate.
How is Rittenhouse Psychiatric Associates different?
RPA only hires Board-Certified Psychiatrists and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners who trained at top ranked institutions and are experts within the field. Providers offer 60-90 minute initial visits, 20-30 minute medication management appointments, and are driven by patient care and experience, over volume.
