Cara Gouldey, CRNP is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with over ten years of direct patient care experience, including diagnosing and treating mental health disorders across the lifespan. Cara specializes in the management of Depression, Anxiety Disorders (including Generalized Anxiety, Social Anxiety, Panic Disorder, and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder), and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in adults and children.
Ms. Gouldey treats adults, adolescents, and children in her Center City office, offering telehealth when available. She practices from a wellness model of care that considers a whole person in their environment, utilizing medication as a part of a comprehensive treatment plan. Cara works collaboratively with patients and families to identify and achieve their goals and best outcomes with psychiatric treatment. Care is evidence-based, trauma-informed, compassionate, and identity-affirming.

Cara graduated from New York University with a degree in psychology, including research in cognition, memory, and public policy. She spent several years working both with the prestigious Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy and in clinical research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan, gaining experience in both psychodynamic treatment modalities and cutting-edge medical and complementary therapies research. She graduated summa cum laude with awards from Adelphi University in New York with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and was accepted into the renowned nurse residency program at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan. There, Cara worked in trauma, infectious disease, and chronic pain management with an extensive medical team, which allows her to provide comprehensive care to her patients and ease of collaboration with a diverse support team. Cara then graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with her Masters of Science in Nursing, and holds national Board Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She has worked primarily in community settings as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, collaborating with individuals and families to provide psychiatric medication, coaching, and therapy, and has served as a clinical instructor for rising Nurse Practitioners at the University of Pennsylvania.
