Comprehensive Concussion Evaluation and Treatment

Book an Appointment

From the first 48 hours after injury through persistent symptoms months later, every evaluation is built on current concussion research, not a one-size-fits-all script.

What We Evaluate

Concussion care spans before, right after, and sometimes long after an injury. Each service below is designed around where a patient is in that timeline.

Concussion Management and Treatment

We evaluate youth and adults with recent diagnosis or suspected concussions to provide proper treatment guidelines for recovery as early as the same day of injury. Our services aim to return individuals back to school, work, or sport at full capacity as efficiently as possible.

Our Approach

  • Evaluation
    • A thorough clinical history, standardized symptom scales, and cognitive, balance, and vestibular-ocular screening to build a complete, individual picture.
  • Individualized Treatment Plan
    • A plan built around your assessment findings, goals, and daily demands.
    • Tailored guidelines emphasizing active recovery for returning to school, work, or sport.
    • Coordinating referrals among specialists, including physical therapy, neurology, neuro-optometrists, and others.
  • Ongoing Monitoring
    • Follow-up visits to track recovery with repeated assessments, make treatment modifications as needed, and manage return-to-learn and return-to-sport paperwork

Preseason Baseline Testing

Every individual is unique. Before an injury ever happens, we establish an athlete’s own healthy reference point through cognitive performance, symptom report, and balance. If a concussion occurs, we’re comparing them to themselves. Baseline results are always interpreted as one piece of a larger clinical picture, alongside a full exam, and never as a stand-alone pass/fail test.

  • Computerized neurocognitive baseline
  • Baseline symptom inventory and balance/vestibular screen
  • Individual results stored securely for comparison after any future injury
  • Guidance for schools and teams on Pennsylvania’s youth-sports concussion requirements

Neuropsychological Testing for Persistent Post-Concussion Symptoms

When symptoms are still present at three months or beyond, a standard clinical exam often isn’t enough to explain why. A full neuropsychological evaluation looks closely at memory, attention, processing speed, and executive function, and helps identify what else may be contributing to lingering symptoms. Treatment recommendations are then formed to target the underlying driver of symptoms and improve quality of life. Click here to learn more about what a comprehensive evaluation entails.

Our Advantage

Fast Access to Care.

Concussions are a time-sensitive injury. Research has clearly shown that the sooner you receive treatment, the quicker you recover and the less likely symptoms persist. Because this is a private-pay practice, scheduling is not gated by insurance authorizations or a months-long backlog. Most patients are seen within days of reaching out, when timing matters most.

Comprehensive Evaluation

Traditional healthcare experiences typically entail more waiting than actual face-to-face time with the provider. Concussions are complex and require comprehensive assessments. Your concussion specialist will guide you through the evaluation and discuss treatments for an efficient recovery, while leaving time to explain the injury and recovery process.

Evidence-based Approach

Evaluation and recovery plans are built on current international consensus guidelines and the latest peer-reviewed concussion studies in a quickly evolving research field.
