Daniel Choi, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical neuropsychologist and director of the concussion program at Rittenhouse Psychiatric Associates. Dr. Choi treats concussions within a clinical model centered on early injury identification, multifaceted assessment, and targeted treatment, with focuses on neurorehabilitation, gradual return to sport/school/work, progressive physical exertion, and behavioral health management. He also conducts comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations for cognitive concerns related to neurodevelopmental, neurological, or cardiovascular conditions to clarify diagnoses and inform individualized treatment planning. Dr. Choi is committed to working closely with each patient throughout their care, with an approach grounded in transparency and practicality.
Professional Background
Dr. Choi completed a two-year fellowship in sports neuropsychology at the Children’s Health Andrews Institute Sports Concussion Program, where he provided assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for acute and subacute concussions in youth and adult patients. From youth to professional levels of competition, he has worked with athletes in preseasons, on the sidelines, and in clinic within days from their injury. He conducted baseline testing and delivered sideline concussion coverages for multiple high school teams and professional organizations, including the NFL, MLS, MLS Next Pro, and NCAA. Dr. Choi has published multiple peer-reviewed journal articles on sports concussion topics, such as recovery risk factors and rehabilitation.
Dr. Choi earned his doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) from Widener University, specializing in neuropsychology. He completed his APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship with rotations at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Princeton Neuropsychology at RSM | Sports Concussion Center of New Jersey. He earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology from the University of Pittsburgh.
