504 and IEP Plans and Recommendations for Children and Adolescents

Book an Appointment

The Board Certified and Fellowship Trained Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists at Rittenhouse Psychiatric Associates are now scheduling both in-office and virtual online appointments for children and adolescents, who may require 504 or IEP Plans and Recommendations for their specific learning disabilities and/or psychiatric struggles. We will work with your child, school and pediatrician to create a plan that focuses on your child’s unique educational needs, to help them access the support that they need for educational success.

What are 504 and IEP Plans and Recommendations?

504 plans are written for children and adolescents with disabilities, when their educational needs may not require specialized instruction. Examples included in 504 recommendations may consist of extended times for test taking and seating for examinations in a way that limits distraction.

IEP’s or Individualized Education Plans are legally binding documents that specify tailored goals, supports and services for a child or adolescent, based on their unique learning disabilities. These documents can ensure that a child receives the accommodations and modifications with the classroom that are necessary, to help them to succeed in their educational journey.

What Conditions May Qualify for 504 and IEP Recommendations?

There are several learning disabilities and psychiatric struggles that may qualify a child for a 504 or IEP plan. They include:

  • Learning disabilities (such as dyslexia)
  • ADHD
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Autism and other Neurodivergence
  • Others
