Elizabeth Milburn, CRNP

Elizabeth Milburn, CRNP (Liz, she/they) is passionate about helping individuals feel more like themselves and take control of their mental health conditions. She has approximately 12 years of experience in the mental health field. She has worked in private practice outpatient offices, a community mental health center, a crisis response center, and the psychological services office for students at the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to becoming Board Certified to prescribe psychiatric medications, she worked on an in-patient medical/surgical telemetry unit at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, resulting in heightened knowledge about medical comorbidities and their care.

Liz treats individuals eighteen and older via telehealth in PA and NJ. She has occasional in-office availability in Center City Philadelphia and Paoli, PA.

Liz has the knowledge and ability to help patients with mood disorders (such as Major Depressive Disorder, Persistent Depressive Disorder and Bipolar Affective Disorder), anxiety disorders (such as Panic Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder), ADHD and opioid use disorder. She has ample experience treating civilians experiencing PTSD and other trauma-related disorders. She also has a significant amount of experience switching antidepressant medications and tapering individuals off antidepressants and habit-forming psychiatric medications safely.

Liz works to find the best fit of treatment that brings the most benefit and the least harm, including holistic recommendations such as lifestyle changes. She has a special interest in treating undergraduate and graduate students and is an ally of the LGBTQIA+ community. She believes in health at every size. The core philosophy in her treatment is unconditional positive regard for individuals seeking her care. If clients already have therapists with whom they wish to continue to work, she will happily collaborate with them.

COLLEGE, NURSING SCHOOL, MASTERS IN PSYCHIATRIC NURSING AND BOARD CERTIFICATION TO PRESCRIBE PSYCHIATRIC MEDICATIONS:

Ms. Milburn earned both a Bachelor’s and Master’s of Science in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania. She graduated summa cum laude from both programs. She is Board Certified in Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing and is licensed to prescribe psychiatric medication, including controlled substances.
