Psychiatry & Psychology Employment Opportunities
In-office & Virtual Private Practice Psychiatry for Academically Oriented and Patient Driven Providers – Join the Family!
Our Mission
To deliver the highest quality mental healthcare services available. To do so by hiring academically oriented providers, who trained at the nation’s top psychiatric programs, and have a primary focus on clinical patient care. To allow providers to practice medicine in a way that is consistent with their training, sub-specialization and innate desire to put their patients first, free of outside influences such as private equity, big business and insurance involvement. To create a more-affordable option for fee-for-service psychiatric care, by providing autonomous private practices to the most well-trained and competent psychiatric nurse practitioners available, and to do so within a framework where case discussion, collaboration and education are part of the culture.
1099 vs W2
Psychiatrists, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, Psychologists and Licensed Professional Counselors are hired as 1099’s, unless they are merging their practice with Rittenhouse, and are seeing approximately 30 hours of patients per week.
As a provider’s practice grows, once they meet criteria for full-time employment, they are transitioned to W2 status with benefits. Of note, most providers choose to work about 20 patient hours per week, enjoy the flexibilities of being a contractor, and remain 1099’s.
Retire with RPA
When retiring, established fee-for-service Psychiatrists, Nurse Practitioners, and Psychologists often have difficulty placing their patients with colleagues whom they trust. Due to a lack of alternatives, they may be tempted to sell to large national conglomerates or private equity, who may be focused on profits and a “re-sale” 3-5 years later. This rollercoaster for patients can significantly affect their well-being. RPA offers an alternative. Retiring with RPA involves your practice becoming part of our network, your ability to utilize our resources, your ability to cut back on virtually all of your practice costs (including malpractice), RPA increasing your compensation significantly (approximately 90% of your gross receipts), and your patients safely transitioning to one of our providers, after a pre-negotiated length of time (1-5 years). By increasing your income, simplifying the process of retiring, and providing peace-of-mind regarding your patients’ care, we are proud to offer this option to the communities that we serve. Contact Dr. Pagnani directly by emailing Pagnani@RittenhousePA.com to discuss this option.

FAQs
Rittenhouse Psychiatric Associates is a family of experts within Psychiatry, who are academically oriented and focused on providing the highest quality care to their patients.
What Attributes do ideal Candidates Possess?
1-2 years + of experience post-training. We look favorably upon academic affiliation (even volunteer), peer-reviewed publications, presentations at medical and psychological conferences, and subspecialty training and focus.
What would my schedule look like at RPA?
Most providers work part-time (15-25 patient hours/ week), make their own schedules, take as much vacation as they would like, have no “in-office” requirement (outside of state and federal regulations), have no mandatory “call,” and there are very limited restrictions to working elsewhere, while working with our organization (for 1099’s). Providers have their own autonomous practices within our network. Support and mentorship is available (and free for our providers), but nothing is required.
What type of mentorship is available?
We have weekly psychotherapy and prescriber collaboration meetings, a free mentorship program for additional weekly supervision (for 1-2 years), several of our more-experienced providers offer free “office hours” weekly, and providers frequently discuss cases by email throughout their work days. Mentorship is completely optional, but many have found this to be an incredible aspect of our practice.
Why do you only hire a few providers each year?
We are focused on maintaining the culture of the practice, and its level of high quality mental health care. We are also very focused on providing secure and stable work for our providers. Growing too quickly could result in a diminished focus on psychiatric care, a change with our academic culture, or a decrease in existing provider’s financial stability. We see our fellow providers as colleagues and collaborators, not competition. Hiring too quickly could jeopardize that.
Why Work at Rittenhouse?
Providers at Rittenhouse are free to see patients in the manner that they were trained, without the outside influences of insurance, big-business, and private equity, that could jeopardize patient care and provider autonomy. Rittenhouse provides not only an ideal environment for patient care, but an academic culture where mentorship, supervision and case collaboration are built in. We aim to provide long-term secure work for our providers, in a practice that strives to remain founder and physician owned, for the foreseeable future.
