Emergency Contact Numbers

Important: Call 911 or Go to the ER First

If you are experiencing a medical or psychiatric emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room or crisis center immediately.

For urgent emotional crisis or suicide-related support, call or text 988.

Do not contact a provider’s emergency number before seeking emergency care.

Emergency numbers may not accept text messages, and Rittenhouse Psychiatric Associates is not responsible for information sent by text.

Important Limits of Emergency Contact Numbers

Providers may not be immediately available when you call these numbers, but will prioritize listening and responding to your message as soon as possible. Rittenhouse Psychiatric Associates does not operate a dedicated emergency line, does not have support staff answering phones during evenings, weekends, or holidays, and providers do not have admitting privileges at local hospitals.

Our practice is equipped to treat patients with moderate levels of mental health needs and generally responds to routine patient needs within 48 business hours. If you have concerns about this policy, please discuss them with your provider at your initial evaluation or at any point during treatment.

Our Commitment to Appropriate, Safe Care

During scheduling, our team may ask about a history of suicide attempts, inpatient psychiatric admissions, or psychosis to help determine whether our practice can safely meet your needs. In some cases, we may recommend care with another provider or a higher level of support.

If your provider determines during treatment that your needs exceed the practice’s resources or clinical scope, they will discuss this with you directly and provide referral resources to support a transition in care. Safety, transparency, and appropriate treatment planning remain central to our approach.
