What is a Neuropsychological Evaluation?

A neuropsychological evaluation is a comprehensive assessment of brain-behavior functioning. Results help clarify diagnoses, identify strengths and areas of difficulty, and provide individualized recommendations for treatment planning, school or workplace accommodations, and long-term support strategies.

At this time, neuropsychological evaluations are offered for individuals ages 6 and older. For autism evaluations for children from 18-months to 6 years, we recommend our affiliate RiseNow Autism Innovations. RiseNow provides evaluations and diagnosis in 4 weeks or less, using FDA-approved technology. Independent school admissions testing is available for younger children. Testing sessions are conducted in person at our Center City Philadelphia office. Intake and feedback appointments may be completed either in person or virtually.

Neuropsychological Assessment Services

Neuropsychological evaluations provide detailed information about how the brain functions across cognitive, academic, emotional, and behavioral domains. Evaluations are tailored to the individual referral question and clinical needs.

Neuropsychological testing may be recommended for:

Comprehensive Neuropsychological Evaluation

A comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation provides a full assessment of cognitive, academic, emotional, and behavioral functioning. These evaluations are appropriate when concerns are complex or overlapping, or when formal diagnostic clarification and accommodation documentation are required.

This evaluation typically includes:

•  Clinical intake interview and developmental history
• Record review when available
• Standardized neuropsychological testing across cognitive domains
• Collateral Reports by Family and Professionals
• Emotional and psychological screening
• Comprehensive written report with diagnostic impressions
• Individualized recommendations for school, workplace, or treatment
• Feedback session to review results

ADHD Evaluation

ADHD testing evaluates attention, executive functioning, working memory, and related cognitive processes to determine whether symptoms are consistent with ADHD and to identify areas of functional impact.

Evaluations help support diagnosis and provide documentation for school accommodations, workplace accommodations, and treatment planning.

Learning Disability and Psychoeducational Testing

Learning disability testing evaluates cognitive abilities and academic skills to identify conditions such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, and other learning differences.

These evaluations support educational planning, academic accommodations, and intervention recommendations.

Autism Diagnostic Evaluation (ADOS-2 Focused)

Autism evaluations assess social communication, developmental history, and behavioral functioning to determine whether autism spectrum disorder is present.

This evaluation typically includes:

• Clinical interview and developmental history
• Record review when available
• ADOS-2 autism diagnostic testing
• Cognitive testing, including:
  • Intellectual functioning
  • Select executive functioning measures
  • Other cognitive areas when indicated
• Social cognition assessment
• Rating scales assessing autism-related traits and associated features
• Comprehensive written diagnostic report
• Feedback session to review findings

If additional cognitive concerns are identified, evaluation may be expanded into a comprehensive neuropsychological assessment.

Older Adult Evaluations, including Memory Concerns and Dementia Evaluations, Neurocognitive Evaluation

Neurocognitive testing evaluates memory, attention, processing speed, executive functioning, and other cognitive abilities in individuals experiencing cognitive changes.

Older adult evaluations assess cognitive functioning, memory, and daily functioning to clarify causes of cognitive decline and support treatment and care planning.

These assessments evaluate:

• Premorbid functioning/Intellectual Ability
• Memory and learning
• Attention and processing speed
• Executive functioning
• Language functioning
• Visuospatial skills
• Sensory/Motor functioning
• Emotional functioning
• Daily living abilities

Evaluations include a written report with recommendations and feedback session.

Concussion and Brain Injury Evaluation

Neuropsychological testing evaluates cognitive functioning following concussion, traumatic brain injury, or neurological illness.

These evaluations help identify cognitive effects, guide recovery planning, and provide documentation when needed.

Independent School Admissions Cognitive Testing

Independent school admissions testing evaluates cognitive abilities for school placement and admissions purposes.

This service includes:

• Administration of age-appropriate cognitive testing (WPPSI, WISC, or WAIS)
• Scoring and reporting of results
• Submission of results in required format

This service does not include a comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation or diagnostic report.

Fees and Payment Structure

Comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations are offered on a private-pay, flat-fee basis.

The evaluation fee includes:

• Clinical intake interview
• In-person testing
• Record review when needed
• Scoring and interpretation
• Comprehensive written report
• Feedback session

Payment structure:

• $500 due at intake appointment
• 50% of remaining balance due at testing
• 50% due when report is delivered

Independent school admissions testing is offered as a flat-fee service with payment due at the time of appointment.

Neuropsychological Assessments: Children, Adolescents & Adults

Our fee structure for neuropsychological services is split into three evaluation types:

• ADHD & comprehensive evaluations: $4,500
• Older adult and dementia: $4,000
• Autism evaluations: $3,800

Payment Structure:

• A $500 deposit is due at the intake appointment.
• Fifty percent (50%) of the remaining balance is due at the testing appointment.
• The final fifty percent (50%) is due upon delivery of the completed report.
